Upon arrival at intake, all incoming residents will have their property searched. All personal items, with the exception of undergarments and shoes, will be picked up by a family member or friend. The property must be picked up within two weeks of admission.
If the personal property is not picked up within the two week time frame, it will be disposed of by staff. If a resident is from out of county, it may be held until his/her first visit. It is the resident's responsibility to ensure their visitor is aware to pick up their property. If a resident does not receive any visits during their stay at the River City Correctional Center, decisions regarding their property will be made on a case by case basis by the Security Supervisor assigned to his/her Pod.
Items such as jewelry, cell phones, wallets, etc., will be kept for a maximum of six months. After six months, the items may be disposed of at the discretion of the Executive Director or designee.

The Employment Specialist assigned to the resident's Pod will inform the Security staff who will be eligible in the upcoming week. The only items permitted to be dropped off are four pair of pants, four shirts and work shoes. Boots are not permitted unless required by a job.
