Sex Offender Specific Program

River City is certified by the Ohio Department of Corrections to provide Sex Offender treatment. River City had 8 Clinicians become certified as Sex Offender therapist by the University of Cincinnati in 2023.

• To provide safety for the victim(s) and the community.
• To provide individualized programming to reinforce appropriate relationships.
• To offer the offender an opportunity to choose a productive lifestyle that does not include victimizing others.

The offender experiences a progressive program that begins with a series of assessments that help clarify the extent of the problem determining the best treatment approach.

The sex offender goes through the standard RCCC program and also completes the three phases of the Sex Offender specific track. The three phases of the program are Disclosure, Victim Issues (Empathy) and Relapse Prevention.

The Sex Offender Specific Program includes the following components:

• Sex Offender Specific Treatment Plan;
• Weekly Therapy Groups;
• Weekly Individual Sessions;
• Risk Assessments;
• Polygraph Testing (only when necessary);
• DNA Testing;
• Collaboration with Victim Advocacy Groups when possible;
• Collaboration with Outside Agencies for Re-Entry Services;
• Sex Offending Cycle;
• Knowledge of Proper Consent;
• High Risk Situations/People/Places; and
• Relapse Prevention Planning.
